is dedicated to the memory of a wonderful woman. I have listened
to stories all my life about people in the music business who helped others
and wondered, why haven't I met one of these people?. Then in March
of 1999 I met you Deirdre and you were so kind. That same week I
had called three other major radio stations in Los Angeles. One said
NO politely, the second said NO by hanging up on me, the third told
me she wouldn't listen to my music because "no one knows Finn MacCool",
and then there was you Deirdre. You politely said "send me the CD
I would love to hear your music". A couple of days later while driving
home from breakfast with my family, listening to your show "Breakfast with
the Beatles" on KLSX you spoke these words,
'I am going to break the rules, I will probably get in trouble for breaking format but what the hell."and you played our music at the end of three hours of Beatles music. I will never forget your kindness. We will miss you Deirdre as will all those fortunate enough to have met you along the way. Thanks for everything. Peter McGowan (Finn MacCool) |
