January 29, 2000 - UCR Museum of photography hosts "Hidden Truths - Bloody Sunday 1972", an exhibition of photographs taken during the Bloody Sunday massacre in Derry, Ireland, by such photographers as Fulvio Grimaldi.  The exhibition also featured newspapers from 1972 bearing articles covering the event and video complete with sound, bringing the visitor a little closer to this gruesome act of brutality that took the lives of fourteen human beings.  Actress and friend Fionnula Flanigan spoke about the importance of remembering the events of that day and of working hard to further the cause of peace in Northern Ireland.  Sam Dash and Elaine Brotherton also spoke at the event.  The song "Hidden Truths" is available as a CD single on this website.  Click on the small pictures to see them enlarged.
